For example; on the eve of the Tabuk war, the companions of the state of Madinah donated the funds to the war fund at the call of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Even women donate necklaces, bangles, earrings, rings, etc. to the fund. Helping people with disasters affected by natural disasters such as cyclones, floods, etc. is also a donation.
Establishing mosques, madrasas, schools, colleges, etc. in the cause of Allah is another kind of donation. And if someone helps the poor by providing money, that is one of the gifts. However, donation usually means helping people with money, eating and drinking. When these donations are made in the cause of God, that is, for the welfare of the people in order to please God, then they are considered, as gifts in the road of Allah.
Regarding giving, Allah says, "O you who believe! Donate from what I have given you before the day comes when there will be no sales, no friendship and no recommendation. "(Surah: Baqara, verse: 254).
This verse means that before the death of a capable human being, he is asked to give almighty Allah so that he does not fail to give alms. It is important to know that the donation is important!
As regards who should be given priority in the giving of donations, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Donating to the poor will only count as a donation. But giving to the poor nearest relative will result in a double reward. One is a donation, the other is for maintaining a kinship relationship. ”(Tirmizi and NASA)
The Qur'an says about what purpose to donate, "... whatever you give is for the sake of Allah, and whatever you give, it will be fully rewarded." (Surah Al-Baqara, Ayat: 272).
If this gift is given for any purpose other than the purpose of obtaining the satisfaction of Allah, Allah will not reward it in the Hereafter. If the donor bothers with the donor's quest for a donation after the donation, that donation fails. In this regard, the Qur'an says, "Better to say good-bye than to give after suffering, and to ask forgiveness is better ..." (Surah: Bakara, verse: 263).
If a poor person accepts money or belongings as a donation, the giver should not have to suffer by finding out about the donation. It is better to treat the recipient of the donation rather than give it to the donor, and to apologize for not donating to the donor.
Donations should not be promoted. In this regard, the Qur'an says, "O you who believe! Do not waste your gift by proclaiming the gift and distressing (the recipient of the gift), just like the one who gives only for the purpose of showing people… ”(Surah: Bakara, verse: 264).
Regarding the giving of gifts publicly or in secret, the Qur'an says, "If you donate publicly, it is better, and if you do it in secret and give it to the needy, it will be better for you; In it, God will clear some of your sins… ”(Sura: Bakara: 271).
It is good to give publicly; This is because showing the donation may be encouraging to many. And it is better to give in secret. Because giving in such a way, the donor can easily avoid the act of showing 'Riya', and they can avoid it if the recipient of the donation does not want people to think about the donation. From this verse, it is seen that, by giving charity, Allah will forgive some sins.
In the Qur'an, the Qur'an says about the reward of Allah in the Hereafter, "Those who give their wealth publicly and secretly, night and day, their Lord has a reward; So they have no fear and they will not have any grief. ”(Sura: Baqara, Ayah: 274).

On the Day of Resurrection, the Giver of secrets will find shadow under the Throne of Allah. Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, seven people will find shade under the Throne of God." No. '(Bukhari and Muslim)
Donations save the fire of hell. Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Even if you donate a portion of the date palm, you should try to survive the fire of hell." (Bukhari and Muslim)
Not only will it benefit in the Hereafter by donating, but it will also benefit in the Hereafter. Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Giving alleviates the displeasure of Allah and prevents disgraceful death (bad death or death)" (Tirmizi). Regarding donations, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "You should hurry to give because the danger cannot exceed it (donations)" (Mashkat Sharif).
That is, the donation eliminates the danger. By donating, the needy people get the money and the things they need, and the way to overcome their helplessness is made easier. It helps to establish and maintain happiness in society and maintain a good social environment. Apart from this, the schools, colleges, madrasas, hospitals, etc. established by donations also contribute to the development and prosperity of the people as well as the country. In this, Zakariya Zariyah was rewarded. Above all, not only the concerned people benefit from the donation, but it also benefits the society and the country.
